RHEINZINK – roofing and facade cladding

RHEINZINK®-Angled Standing Seam

The angled standing seam is a relatively new development in the field of traditional sheet metal technology. It was not mentioned in technical literature until the beginning of the 20th century. It is most widely used for roofs with a minimum pitch of 25°. Closing the seams is simple, compared with the double standing seam, as only a single side is bent. The angled standing seam is a popular choice in visible areas of metal roofing where the roof pitch is greater, e.g. parapets, fascias and mansard roofs, whether running in the traditional vertical direction, diagonally or horizontally.

Although it looks wider than the double standing seam, the angled standing seam is an eyecatching feature even over large areas of roofing.

RHEINZINK®-Double Standing Seam

The double standing seam is seen as a further development of the simple standing seam. First mentioned in the relevant literature in 1899, it is the preferred choice over other systems for roof pitches under 25°. The minimum pitch here is 5° or 5 %. The name "double standing seam" characterises one of the classic longitudinal joint types outside the water level. On international markets it is the 25 mm high double standing seam manufactured with pre-profiled panels that has established itself. The profile is folded and closed manually or mechanically using profiling and seam folding machines. Special shapes such as convex and concave curves or tapers can be produced without any problem.

Traditional architecture or modern design will be set off perfectly by the elegant lines of the double standing seam thanks to its wide range of details.

RHEINZINK®-Click Roll Cap

The roll cap system with battens is one of the more traditional of today’s prevailing sheet metal work techniques. The name “Click Roll Cap System“ stands for a type of longitudinal joint, whereby the RHeINZINK-Click Roll Cap Fastener, made of galvanized steel, is used as a fastener between the panels. Both fastening alternatives are covered with a roll cap. As the roll caps are usually formed mechanically, they ensure a precise and efficient installation. Roll cap systems support the design quality and sophisticated look even in extensive facade areas.

The dominant longitudinal joints typical of the click roll cap system create a strong structural effect; the interplay of light and shadow is striking and charming. An even greater wealth of variations exists when the roll cap system is combined with double standing seam techniques.
